Tom Brokaw Explains Canada to Americans

Don't know how many of you saw this on NBC but I just watched it and thought it was very well done ... until the end when Brokaw reports that our Prime Minister had to encourage Canadians to be more patriotic during the Olympics.

Well so far, I think we have done more than we were told, not that I want to give Stephen Harper any credit for the unbelievable show of patriotism and pride in our country, not to mention our amazing medal count so far. A prime example may be found right here in my own home where Number Three Son is going for gold and a world's record for wearing the same article of Team Canada clothing not only for the entire length of the Games but since he opened his presents on Christmas morning!

  1. Love Canada! I think Canadians do their country proud! Go Son #3! Go for the gold for that shirt-wearing!

  2. I think, if you want to see some awesome Canadian team spirit, you don't need to look any further than that awesome medal ceremony after the Canadians won the gold in ice dancing! There wasn't ONE person in that auditorium who WASN'T singing your national anthem, LOUDLY! It made me cry, it was so touching!

Also, that bit about your son is also ADORABLE!!

  3. Had my boys watch this video – we were all impressed, right up until the moment our ability to demonstrate patriotism was maligned.
I don’t need Harper to tell me how or when to show my enthusiasm and love of country!

    More spirit and hurrahs tonight!

  4. I really enjoyed the closing ceremonies. I know that Chicago lost the bid for 2012, but it made me wonder what we would have done for our opening and closing ceremonies.

If he gets the medal will he put the thing in the wash?

    Thanks for sharing,

  5. Clothing crisis averted. My Dad bought him another Team Canada sweatshirt so that he has one to wear while the other is being washed!
